Sitting directly adjacent to the busy main entrance to the hospital is a healing garden that offers a special place for peace, hope, and healing to patients, families, and staff.  A slate pathway leads the user through the garden, with Japanese-style water features at both entrances, flowers blooming almost year round, and four benches allowing for rest and contemplation.  Pillars along a garden gate separate the garden from the busy street, and a plaque and quote on the pillars identify special groups who have inspired, enhanced or benefited from the mission of Providence Hospital. The Hospital's mission is further displayed within the Garden by prominent stones written with the words Joy, Care, and Respect.
