The Arc of Prince George's County(On the Drawing Board) Type/FeaturesSensory Garden Address1401 McCormick Drive ContactTKF is partnering with The Arc to complete the first of three phases in creating a Sensory Garden. The garden will combine numerous levels of healing meant to benefit individuals who attend the program, staff, and community users of The Arc's space. The primary vision for the garden is to create a place of sanctuary for Arc staff, and a place of opportunity to experience the healing power of nature for more than 75 individuals who have developmental disabilities and who attend the Bridges program on a daily basis. It is the first space that TKF is helping to create that is located within a large business park location that bustles with activity, especially during mid day with people out walking in large numbers. The Arc sees the garden as an opportunity to invite the public to take pause in the garden and at the same time, hopes to hopes to foster a stronger relationship with the individuals who attend their program. The surrounding community will be invited into the space with signage explaining the garden, along with a path leading from the main pedestrian sidewalk into the space.
