Capstone Awards, like grants that we have funded in the past, will be chosen for funding because they are led by an authentic Firesoul who seeks to introduce an open, sacred place in nature as a means of addressing a specific, compelling individual or community need.

We are interested in proposals that include qualitative inquiries into the human experience as well as quantitative measurement of outcomes. 

We are "partners," not just donors. We seek high-potential projects likely to generate a transformational result for the individuals or communities served. We have more than a decade of experience in the creation of successful Open Spaces Sacred Places and are here to help as you develop your thinking and your project.  Being “open” is not as simple as it sounds and “sacred spaces” take many forms of expression.

We are especially interested in encouraging powerful inter-disciplinary teams to come together in developing holistic approaches to the creation and study of these new spaces.  Multiple lines of thought, different agendas, and varied concerns all cross through the space where nature, spirit and human wellbeing meet. We seek new solutions born out of collaboration. We seek to be a catalyst that sparks imagination and innovation. We seek projects that can become models for future replication or that significantly expand the understanding and applications  of nature as a healing and positive force, especially in challenging urban situations.

The TKF Foundation supports only 501(c)(3) organizations. Grants are restricted to the purpose of creating new projects.  No contributions for endowment, debt reduction, or on-going operations will be considered. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek matching or challenge grants from other funders, and should note other funding sources being pursued when making an application with TKF.
